Delta Beta Announces the World's First Solid State IFE System
Delta Beta is pleased to announce its new 9000Si series of In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems. The 9000Si IFE system is fully solid-state and uses no disk drives, DVD drives or any other moving parts. The solid-state 9000Si provides new levels of cost reductions and greatly improves reliability by virtually eliminating susceptibility to shock and vibration.
The 9000Si series provides every passenger with sophisticated on-demand access to hundreds of hours of audio and video programming while guaranteeing reliability levels of 99.9% or greater This 500% improvement over standard airline industry requirements addresses the airline industry's increasing need for efficiency in IFE operations and support.
Delta Beta's commitment to a solid-state design has resulted in many benefits that it hopes to pass on to airlines. One benefit is capability versus weight. The 9000Si series provides on-demand movies, music, games, email, shopping and Internet/intranet browsing for less than 4 pounds (1.8 kilograms) per seat. Solid-state components also result in a simpler system that has allowed Delta Beta to design in 100% network and server redundancy to provide fail-safe service of over 2.0 gigabits per second for 500 passengers or more. Additional advantages of the 9000Si system are reduced power requirements, less heat to deal with and shorter upload times when new movies and music are put onto the system.
Airlines can contact Delta Beta for further information or to arrange a demonstration of the new 9000Si IFE system and to explore adding more competitive levels of IFE service for their passengers with fewer system failures and less maintenance.
